My editorial services include both copy and line-editing, and is suitable for businesses, authors, students, public sector or academics wanting to improve and elevate their documents. This can range from a thesis, an essay to a novel manuscript or non-fiction book. 

Copy-editing involves reviewing your manuscript to enhance its quality, clarity, and coherence. It will also include fact-checking, reorganising sentences for better flow and readability, as well as adding or rewriting portions to strengthen the overall message or narrative. 

The aim of copy-editing is to polish the text while maintaining the author's voice and intended meaning, preparing it for publication or distribution to its audience.

Line-editing will give you the most detailed form of text-correction. This will include refining your piece on a paragraph and sentence level to ensure clarity of your writing.

Rate: Prices start from £45 per hour, but most of the time I’ll give a fixed project fee based on a sample review

Before providing a quote, I will need the following information: 

  • Word count

  • Schedule – when you will send the work and when you want/need it back 

  • What service you would like (e.g. editing only or both editing and proofreading) – if you’re unsure, we can discuss this but knowing your expectations helps 

  • Details of the work – is it a novel, PhD thesis, business report? Has it been written by a single or multiple authors? Are the authors native English speakers or non-native?


I’m happy to base the fee on word count or day rate depending on what suits you. All quotes are in GBP and to be paid by transfer to a UK bank account.
